When folded the table is When assembled the table is Set up was simple and the table has a self-contained storage design. Containing both a small storage box and the tables legs. The legs are strong and sturdy, as they attach to the table top by a screw and latch. The legs are constructed of metal and plastic and contain rubber feet to improve stability. I was genuinely impressed with this design feature, as similar models use folding legs and often sacrifice strength and stability to do so.

There are two metal rails within the workbench top that allow for bar clamps or the included screw clamps. The screw clamps could easily be used for creating a fence which is useful for the router capabilities. The option of using bar clamps within the tracks creates countless utilities, an example would be securing a workpiece or an alternate fence install. One of which is simply increasing the size of the workspace, or another is allowing 2X4s to serve as wood support when using a miter saw.

You could also use these supports to secure a 2X4 while cutting it. Within the small workbox, there were 4 dividers for customization of the box allowing it to serve its users purpose. It also contained alternate router table inserts, included screw-on clamps and brackets. The table itself packs a punch, but the feature that distinguishes it from other portable workbenches is the included router plate. The insert is removed by four simple screws and is made from plastic that has reinforced ribbing underneath.

I did have to drill holes to make it work, which can be a bit difficult because the screws have to somewhat countersink in order to sit flush. There are numerous ways to correct this, and most router tables and insert plates seem to need some adjustments to be compatible across brands. This Husky workbench is strong, sturdy and versatile. I was pleased with its overall capabilities and some of the features such as the brackets and included tracks were genius.

The only thing I felt fell short was the router insert plate, because of the adjustments I had to make. For the price tag, this Husky surprised me in the best way. Not only is it reasonable for a portable workbench, the table also goes above and beyond to include features that increase its versatility. The compact nature makes this workbench an easy win for most anyone, from a homeowner to a professional.

This table is an exceptional value with several features that really set this workbench apart from others. Even with the slight speedbump with the router plate, it is still a feature that was innovative and for the professional means not needing a separate routing table on worksites.

Husky thought of every consumer in this design and homeowners will love the number of capabilities this workbench has especially with its small storage footprint. I got this table on a Black Friday a couple of years ago and I love it. Great table! I really like Husky in general, but this table definitely stands out. Glad to hear you are still loving it! I just wish the legs were adjustable to make the work surface higher. Especially when you have back problems and no flexibility in your neck due to surgery and the resulting limited movement of your head that goes along with it.

Hey David! This Husky though is amazing! Lateral loads, however, are a different story. Nor will you want to stand a bunch of heavy material against it. Despite the minor issues regarding the router table feature, my experience has been rather positive. Really, the only negative aspects are that 1 a lot of routers are not going to be compatible and 2 the top is a little wavy, so you may not get consistent depth with some routing operations.

The good points, however, are everything else! I love the large bench top. I like how the legs and accessories organizer lock into place and how the bench can be stored in such a narrow footprint comparable to that of most folding saw horses. Finally, the router table option is a really nice and unexpected bonus! But some of you may find it an invaluable asset. Being such a great utility item, this workbench is going to get used quite often. Husky backs this baby with a 2-year limited warranty.

The brackets can be used to support extension wings for your miter saw. Photo — HomeDepot. The brackets are also a good way to support 2-by material on edge. No clamps are included, and all but one of mine were too large to fit into the rails.

It really is true that you can never have too many clamps. The plate lifts out for easy access router installation. It comes with three different router plate inserts: 0. So Which Routers Will Work? Here are the ones I tried.

This makes sense because over time your bench is going to get really beat up and used- this is what makes them look distinctive and full of character. Another common error hobbyists make is that they had too many woodworking vises attached to it.

The third common error is that woodworkers will build their bench to do all sorts of bizarre trickery like making it into a pneumatic lift, or making it adjustable on an x, y, z-axis, or even installing a ton of interior shelving. They say that your focus should be on creating a solid, spacious fat table surface that serves your crafts needs rather than constructing something incredibly complex that defeats the purpose of its simplicity.

They advise that you should be comfortable with the fact that the wood moves and not get too caught up in trying to prevent it from happening when designing your bench. If it gets too bad, they say that it takes less than 45 minutes of work to fix. If you have really miniature tools that can fit on the pegboard, you can make a copper tube miniature tool organizer to stick in drill bits and other fine instruments.

If you have a lot of spare miscellaneous cables cluttering up your work area, you can use empty toilet paper tubes to coil them up, insert them inside, and store all of them in a cardboard box- a super simple storage approach. One overlooked option is to tidy up your ceiling. A basement or garage workshop can look somewhat gloomy and uninviting- but if you spend time installing lighting or otherwise making the ceiling look attractive it can pay enormous aesthetic dividends. This is especially important if you have a lot of fine tools and you need the ability to see deep into the crevices to extract exactly what you need at the right moment.

If you have a heap of fine wires around- you can install a wire spool holder to keep them from getting tangled. An alligator clip clothesline can also be used to dangle your alligator clips from to make them easily accessible and organized.
